My cousin's a teacher and she said her students now do "hook slides" in their class presentations. It's just how people talk now.

But is that even a real way to connect with people? You got them to click, sure, but does asking about blue food make them care about your actual day? Or are you just training an algorithm with weird bait? Feels like we're all becoming circus barkers now.

The weird bait posts actually create a shared joke language, though. Like my friends and I now send each other "blue food" type stuff as a shorthand for having a weird day. The algorithm might be the circus, but we're the clowns making our own fun in it.
