I finally figured out why my Instagram Reels were flopping after 8 months

I was posting every day but getting like 50 views. Turns out I was using trending audio wrong the whole time. I always picked a cool song and just put my video over it, but nobody told me you're supposed to actually match the beat or the vibe of the audio to your content. A buddy who runs a food blog in Portland pointed it out after watching one of my clips. Has anyone else had a dumb realization like this that completely changed your numbers?

Okay but those 'mukbang' creators with the ASMR chewing are actually genius business people

I kept seeing these channels blowing up with millions of views and thought it was just a weird fad that would fade. Then I noticed one creator near Seattle has been posting daily for 4 years and built a whole merch line on top of it. I mean maybe it's just me but if you can turn eating noodles into a six figure gig, that's not a trend, that's a career at this point. Anyone else think we're underestimating how long this format sticks around?

That stat about AI voice scams doubling in 2024 kinda freaked me out

Was reading this report from the FTC the other day and they said something like 40% of people reported getting a scam call using a cloned voice last year. That's way higher than I thought. My dad almost fell for one where someone pretended to be my brother asking for bail money. My meal prep operation fell apart when my container lids all cracked at once

I got really into meal prepping last spring, buying those glass containers with plastic snap lids. Everything was going fine for about 6 months until one Sunday I pulled them out of the fridge and three lids cracked as I opened them. Then another two split when I tried to snap them shut after washing. Total meltdown in my kitchen at 9 PM on a Sunday, food everywhere, no lunch for the week. I ended up putting everything into old takeout containers just to salvage what I could. Now I'm looking at silicone stretch lids as a replacement but I wonder if those will hold up long term or if they are just another trend that falls apart. Has anyone found container lids that actually last more than a year?

Hit 1,000 followers on my niche art account last night

I started this dumb sketch page 3 months ago just to post weird doodles of cats in historical outfits. Like Victorian wigs and pirate hats. Didn't think anyone would care but I hit 1,000 followers last night. That's wild because my main account with years of effort has like 400. It made me wonder if these super niche accounts are a flash in the pan or if people actually want to stick around for the long haul. So I hit the 10k karma mark last Tuesday on my main account, and I thought I'd feel like some big deal or something lol. A buddy of mine runs a small illustration page on Instagram, and last month he started pumping out AI generated posts without telling anyone. My buddy Mike kept pushing me to make YouTube shorts instead of regular videos. Said it was the only way to grow now. My $50 electric leaf blower died after 2 uses

I bought a cheap leaf blower off Amazon last month to clear my driveway in Cleveland after the big storm.
