My sister said all her friends are ditching Instagram for BeReal
We were talking at dinner last night and she said 'it's just real life, no filters, no ads.' That hit different because she's 16 and her whole social circle is on it. Is this actually the next big thing or just another flash in the pan?

You said it's the same cycle of chasing authenticity, but that's not quite it. The chase is for a new space, not just a real one. Instagram felt new once too. BeReal works because it's small and their parents aren't there yet. It's less about being real and more about finding a fresh spot before it gets crowded.
