I spent $150 on a 'smart' fabric cutter that ended up being a total waste.
I was designing a small collection of structured jackets and thought this digital cutter would save me time on the pattern pieces. It jammed constantly on anything thicker than silk and the software was a mess, so I went back to my old rotary cutter after two frustrating days. Has anyone else had a bad experience with automated cutting tools for home studios?

That "software was a mess" part hits home... I bought a fancy laser level for marking roof lines that had a phone app. The app would just freeze and the battery died in twenty minutes if it was cold out. Went right back to my old chalk line. Sometimes the simple tool you already trust is just better.

Exactly! We're adding a whole new failure point with the app that the chalk line never had.
