My neighbor called my new jacket design 'a confused traffic cone'

I was showing off a bright orange and gray reversible parka I'm working on, and she just blurted it out. It made me laugh, but now I'm second-guessing the whole color blocking scheme. Has anyone else had a brutally honest comment actually improve a project?

Confused traffic cone" is a great line. My friend once called a hat I knit a "sad, deflated birthday cake." I kept the hat, but I never used that yarn combo again.

That "sad, deflated birthday cake" line is brutal but hilarious. I gotta say though, I don't think the original comment was calling the scarf an insult exactly. More like an observation that turned out to be accurate. But anyway, your friend clearly has an eye for visual metaphors. Kinda makes me wonder what other everyday objects your knitting has accidentally brought to life.
