Thought those premium high-waisted patterns were a gimmick until I sewed one up last weekend

My first attempt at a $15 indie pattern from a shop in Portland fit me better than anything I've drafted myself in 2 years, so what brands have actually surprised you with their construction?

Nah, I've had way better luck with big4 patterns honestly.

Honestly, Mood Fabrics surprised me hard. Picked up a $12 knit pattern on a whim and the fit was miles better than my beloved Vogue knockoffs. The instructions actually made sense too, which is rare for me lol.

I feel like I've spent so much time fussing over grainlines that I forgot patterns are actually supposed to... you know, fit a human body... The first time I tried a cheap indie pattern from a random Etsy shop I nearly cried because the shoulders actually sat where they should without me having to redraw the whole armhole. My own self-drafted patterns just sit in a drawer now looking judgmental while I reach for the $12 PDFs.
