Rant: I stopped using floral foam for my large centerpieces and it saved me $200 a month

I was spending way too much on those green foam bricks for big hotel events. Last month, I tried using chicken wire and water tubes for the roses and heavy stems instead. It held everything just as well, the flowers lasted longer, and the setup was cleaner. Has anyone else found a good foam-free method for tall arrangements?

Wow, that's a huge savings! I gotta say though, chicken wire can be a real pain to work with on the smaller stuff. For my table pieces, I switched to using those reusable plastic frogs or even just a heavy vase with a crisscross of clear tape on the opening. It locks the stems in place without the mess. The floral foam dust was the worst part for me, it got everywhere.

Those plastic frogs sound way easier than wrestling with wire. What kind of heavy vase do you use, like a certain shape or material that works best for the tape trick? I always worry the tape won't hold if the stems are thick.

But what about the time you save with foam?
