Just hit $5,000 in a single month for the first time, and it's not what I expected.
I've been freelancing for about eight months, mostly taking whatever small jobs came my way to pay bills. This month, a big project from a client in Austin wrapped up, and my income tracker showed that exact number. Honestly, it made me realize I have no real plan for taxes or saving, I just chased the cash. How do you handle the money side when you finally start earning more?

Nah, @gavin_hill27, that just sounds like poor planning to me.

Seriously? It's five grand. Not like you won the lottery. Just set aside a chunk, maybe thirty percent, in a separate account. Do it right now. The tax man will come for his share eventually. Then figure out the rest later.
