Honestly, my meal prep containers keep warping in the dishwasher and it's driving me nuts

I invested in a set of glass containers last year thinking they'd last forever, but after weekly cycles, the lids are all misshapen and won't seal properly. Last Sunday, my tomato-based sauce leaked all over the fridge because the lid didn't snap on right, ruining a whole batch of quinoa. Tbh, I'm tired of wasting food and dealing with the cleanup every time. I've tried hand-washing them, but that defeats the purpose of saving time on meal prep day. Does anyone have recommendations for durable, dishwasher-safe containers that actually hold up? Ngl, I'm considering switching to stainless steel, but I worry about not being able to see what's inside. Honestly, how do you all manage storage without this hassle?

Look into stainless steel containers with clear lids if visibility is a concern, some brands combine both materials. I started using a label maker to mark dates and contents on the side, which actually helped me reduce food waste because I'm more aware of what's in there. The trick is to establish a rotation system so you're not constantly guessing, and honestly, the durability outweighs the minor inconvenience after a week or two. Still miss the glass sometimes, but at least I'm not cleaning up leaks anymore...

Used to roll my eyes at organized fridge tips, but labeling dates like you mentioned turned out to be a game changer. I was constantly forgetting what was in my containers, and now I actually use things before they go bad. Still getting used to the stainless steel, but the no-leaks part is totally worth it.

Honestly, labeling dates felt like overkill until I tried it and saw how much food I was saving. My fridge was a graveyard for mystery leftovers before that simple change. @lily_barnes has a point about clear lids too, since seeing what's inside without opening everything saves time. It took me a solid month to stop missing the glass containers, but the stainless steel ones don't stain or warp like plastic did. Once you establish that rotation system, it becomes less about organization and more about just knowing what you have. Funny how such a small habit can transform something as mundane as fridge management.
