Found a meditation guide that actually clicked for me
I've been bouncing between different methods for a while without much luck. This free audio guide kept things simple and focused on counting breaths. It finally helped me sit still for ten whole minutes.

Did you notice if the guide mentioned anything about how you were sitting? I wasted months trying to meditate while slouched on my couch, and it just made my back ache. Switching to a firm chair with my feet flat on the floor was a game changer for actually being able to focus on the breath counting.
