My dog's stubborn sit-stay video finally got traction after eight months
I've been sharing clips of my dog, Duke, on social media since last summer. Most posts just sat there with maybe ten likes from family. Then, this week, a video from fall of him holding a sit-stay while a squirrel teased him got noticed. It took forever, but seeing it hit a few thousand views made all the waiting worth it. Now I get why those big pet accounts keep at it day after day.

Ugh, honestly that sounds exhausting. Chasing likes for months just to feel validated by strangers seems like a sad way to enjoy your pet. I'd rather just have the quiet, real moments that nobody else ever sees.

Read this piece about how constant sharing can actually cheapen personal memories. Makes you wonder if posting ruins the quiet magic.

My cousin posted a video from our family cabin trip last summer, just us jumping off the dock. That clip got our whole extended group texting and planning the next reunion for months. Sharing it didn't steal the memory, it turned a single weekend into a bigger story we all own. Sometimes putting a moment out there lets you keep coming back to it with people who matter. The quiet magic is real, but so is the shared kind.
