How my 'work from anywhere' flexibility turned into a constant state of being on-call

Honestly, I used to champion the idea of working from any spot in my apartment, seeing it as ultimate freedom. Tbh, after a year of never truly disconnecting and feeling perpetually drained, I realized I was always in 'work mode'. I completely changed my stance and now enforce a hard stop at 6 PM and a physical work zone. Ngl, it was tough to break the habit, but my focus and downtime have improved dramatically. Please, learn from my blunder and set real boundaries from day one.

But isn't that just a self-control thing?

It's incredibly difficult when you're constantly bombarded with notifications and updates.

Consider how always-on culture makes self-control nearly impossible to maintain.
