inHot take: My tiny kitchen taught me to love cooking from scratch.
Okay, so your friend enjoys cooking now because her kitchen is small... but is that really a life lesson? It just sounds like she found a way to deal with a bad situation. Sometimes constraints are just annoying, not some magic trick to make you happy. I mean, if it works for her, great, but let's not act like having less choices is always better. For some people, a tiny kitchen would just make them hate cooking even more... it's not that serious. We don't need to make a big deal out of every little thing.

inPSA: My basement corner as a test street food spot
Remember when my friend turned their garage into a pop-up taco stand? They strung up fairy lights and used old wooden crates for tables. It still smelled like motor oil sometimes, but the mood was right. They played mariachi music from a Bluetooth speaker. In my experience, lighting and sound can trick your brain into forgetting you're in a utility space. Your mileage may vary with basement humidity, though.

inMy one-week deadline made my digital art suffer
Man, I used to swear only the core concept mattered in these things. But your skin texture example got me. Like last month's show, the top entry had blurry background trees, no leaf details. Probably done in a crunch. So they are grading the flashy idea, not the polish. Totally shifted how I see those short deadlines now. Makes sense why rushed pieces compete.
