Tbh, the obsession with flawless sketchbook pages in tours is overrated imo.
Learning to value and share my rough drafts unexpectedly improved my actual drawing skills more than any tutorial.

Spot on about the rough drafts. Honestly, the pressure to have a pristine sketchbook is a creativity killer. I started sharing my unfinished work, and it completely changed my approach. Seeing the messy process taught me more than any tutorial. Ngl, embracing the rough work is how you actually improve.

Embracing the mess is where real growth happens. My own sketchbook used to be a graveyard of half-finished ideas until I stopped caring about presentation. Now, the pages are filled with overlapping lines and notes, which actually help me track my thought process. That chaotic energy fuels more creativity than any polished piece ever could.

Ever think about which messy ideas are worth going back to? I leave little notes right on the sketch about what felt good, or I'll circle the one rough shape that actually worked. That way, when you flip back later, you're not just seeing a jumble. You see a path through the noise to the real keepers. It turns the chaos into a map.
