Appreciation post: My evening watercolor washes are my new mental reset
Using just two colors for gradient skies forces me to focus on the process. I end up way more relaxed and ready for sleep.

Wait, only two colors? That's the part that gets me. I always end up grabbing every tube on my desk when I try something like that. How do you even get a full sky gradient with just two? I guess maybe that's the whole point, not messing with a ton of mixes. It just seems so limited, but you're saying it works. That's wild that forcing it to be simple ends up looking so good and doing the job better.

What made you try just two colors in the first place? I completely agree because I switched to a limited palette for my own night time painting. Using only phthalo blue and burnt sienna changed everything for me. It forces you to really see how the colors mix and blend on the paper instead of overthinking. I used to waste so much time deciding on colors, and now the routine itself is what clears my head. That focus on just the process is like a meditation that actually works. Have you noticed if some color combinations are more relaxing than others?

Yeah, using only two colors like cadmium red and cerulean blue made my painting sessions so much more focused.
