Vent: My before-bed yoga flows are fast and it really works for me
Most folks say evening yoga should be slow to help you relax, but I do the opposite. I run through a quick, energetic flow right before I hit the pillow. It started when I noticed calm poses just left me lying awake, thinking too much. Now I do a short series with moves like warrior jumps and fast sun salutes. It takes about ten minutes and burns off that last bit of restlessness. My friend who teaches yoga says it's a bad idea and will keep me up. But I fall asleep faster and sleep deeper when I do it. If you always hear to slow down but it doesn't help, maybe try a speedy flow instead.
