From speed to stillness in my yoga practice

Always rushed my flows to feel the burn. Thought slow yoga was for beginners. Then a weekend workshop had us hold warrior two for a full minute. Felt my legs shake and my mind clear. Now I start every session with five minutes of gentle stretching.

My buddy used to hate slow yoga until she tried a yin class. She said holding those floor poses for three minutes straight made her rethink what "hard" even means. Now she's totally into it.

So you also thought slow yoga was the easy way out? I tried a yin class once and was sure I’d just be bored. Then my hips started screaming two minutes into dragon pose. Never felt more betrayed by something called “restorative.”

Ugh, the mental part is the real killer. It's not just your hips yelling, it's your brain going nuts because you can't fidget or rush through it. I mean, holding still and just dealing with the weird ache is a whole other kind of hard. That silent fight in your head is way worse than any fast workout.
