inPro tip: I found a comment section trick that actually got me a refund
I mean, "double down every single time" feels like a bit much. Most companies just ignore stuff until it blows over. Maybe we're giving them too much credit for having a real reaction.

inMy hostel breakfast in Prague went from stale bread to a full spread in two days
Oh, I feel that. I once stayed somewhere where the "complimentary breakfast" was just a sad basket of wrapped crackers. The morning a bus full of German tourists pulled in, they magically produced a whole buffet with sausages and yogurt. Guess my solo traveler money wasn't good enough for the good stuff!

inOverheard a dad at the comic shop telling his kid it's okay to just like the pictures
Honestly that's a nice moment but maybe we're overthinking it. The kid was seven, he probably just wanted to look at Wolverine's claws. Sometimes a dad is just being a dad, not making a big statement about comic book culture.

inThe week I had to explain a bridge loan to my parents in 2008
Yeah, "nobody was sure what any bank would do next" really sums it up. We had a client in a similar spot around then, trying to buy before selling their old condo. The hard part wasn't explaining the loan, it was finding a lender who would actually commit to the terms without changing them at the last second.

inI was totally wrong about the main character in 'The Dutch House'
Yeah, it's more like 300 pages, not 500. But I get what you mean about missing a character's good side until someone points it out. Happened to me with a different book too.
