My phone buzzed with LE SSERAFIM's Inkigayo win news and I got way too hype

Exactly. That forced hype thing is everywhere once you notice it. Sports commercials trying to make every game feel historic. School events where they act like every project will change the world. Makes you just want to watch the thing itself and tune out the noise. Feels like they're always trying to sell you a feeling instead of letting you just have your own.

I always skipped overnight buses, but a ride in Thailand changed my tune

Those sleeper buses to Chiang Mai have those semi-bed seats, right? My cousin took one and said she slept okay, even with her bad back. Honestly, a little discomfort for one night seems like a fair trade for not paying for a hotel.

Spent three hours learning basic accounting software. Now I just resent spreadsheets slightly less.

Took a deep dive into accounting software last quarter and it altered my entire perspective. I once believed spreadsheets were the ultimate burden, a symbol of corporate drudgery. Now I see them as tools that work best when supported by proper software, not as standalone solutions. @miles_jackson7 mentioning that newsletter article confirmed this shift isn't unique to me. The automation and clarity from dedicated platforms remove so much of the grind, making spreadsheets more about interpretation than manual input. I still don't enjoy spreadsheets, but I respect their purpose more after understanding the bigger system.

Vent: After revisiting some vintage sci-fi anthologies, I got hit with this weird nostalgia for how straightforward alien encounters used to be.

Yeah, been there... I keep a stack of Asimov or Clarke shorts by the bed for when modern sci-fi feels like homework. Skim a story before sleep... it's like a palette cleanser for the imagination.
