My sponge cake success without a kitchen scale

Remember that time I tried to make a Victoria sponge without a scale? Ended up with something closer to a doorstop than a cake. Who even decided cups were a good idea for flour, when it packs down so easily? You'd think after a few brick-like results, people would just buy a cheap scale. But then, maybe the mystery of never knowing how it'll turn out is part of the fun for some?

DAE skip good coffee while camping to save time?

Found that skipping the instant stuff and forcing myself to wait for a proper boil changed everything. Last trip, I'd just watch the steam rise from the pot and listen for the bubble rhythm. That five minutes of nothing but camp sounds and anticipation made the coffee taste ten times better, lol. It turns a chore into the best part of waking up out there.

Quitting my reliance on curated travel lists exposed more genuine locales

Respectfully, I see it another way. Ngl, regional subreddits can still echo chamber popular spots after a while. My method involves striking up conversations in local cafes or markets during the trip itself. Tbh, you get real-time, unrehearsed advice that hasn't been filtered for an online audience. Honestly, that's led me to family-run eateries and hidden trails no algorithm would promote. It requires more spontaneity, but the discoveries feel truly personal.
