Got stuck behind a trash truck on Central for 20 mins and missed my kid's playoff game
I was heading east on Central last Thursday around 5:15 trying to make my son's 5:30 basketball game at the North Domingo Baca gym when a trash truck stopped dead in the right lane near Carlisle to grab a dumpster. I sat there watching the clock while cars tried to squeeze around it and a guy in a white Tacoma almost clipped my mirror, so I finally just parked on a side street and jogged the last half mile, getting there with 3 minutes left in the first quarter. Is it just me or has traffic on Central gotten way worse over the last couple years, and does anyone know a better route to cut across town during rush hour?
Man, I feel this in my soul. My garbage guys come at 7am on Tuesdays and block my whole street while I'm trying to get the kids to school, and last month one of them waved at me all friendly while I was late for a showing. My fix has been leaving 15 minutes earlier no matter what, which sounds dumb but it works. Hope your kid's team pulled it out.
