Just spent a morning at the Albuquerque biopark and it was a nice break

I've been feeling stuck at home lately, so I decided to visit the biopark on a whim. The weather was perfect, sunny but not too hot. I walked around the zoo section and saw the new prairie dog exhibit. It was fun watching them pop in and out of their holes. I even got to chat with a keeper who explained some cool facts about local wildlife. After that, I sat by the pond and just enjoyed the quiet. It felt like a real reset from my usual routine. Sometimes the best things in Albuquerque are right in your backyard.

What was the coolest fact the keeper shared about the local wildlife?

Actually, it was a guide, not a keeper, since it's a nature center, not a zoo. The coolest thing she told us was how the local screech owls don't build their own nests. They just move into old woodpecker holes in dead trees and raise their families there.

That part about it feeling like a reset from your usual routine really hit home. My coworker went there last month after a rough week and said almost the same thing. She ended up spending like an hour just in the aquarium section, said watching the fish slowly move around in the dim light totally cleared her head. She said it was weirdly more peaceful than just sitting at home trying to relax. It's cool how a local spot like that can actually make a difference.
