Visiting the new mural on Central near 8th, I disagree that it's an improvement for the neighborhood.
The bright colors clash with the historic brick buildings and feel like a corporate ad, not local art, so what's a better spot for public art that actually fits Albuquerque's vibe?

Totally agree, that mural looks like a soda ad. It's way too slick and doesn't match the area at all. They should put real art in places that need a lift, like the blank walls by the rail yards or in some of the older shopping centers. Something with local artists and themes, not just bright colors for the sake of it. That would actually feel like Albuquerque instead of a generic corporate project.

Heard the artist isn't even from here.

Painting over a faded old sign on Central worked way better than any new mural.
