Friend laughed at my deadlift form and I actually had to listen

I've been doing deadlifts at my gym in Portland for like 6 months and thought I had it down. This buddy of mine who's a powerlifter watched one set and said my hips were shooting up way too early. He pulled out his phone and showed me a slow-mo video of me rounding my back like a shrimp lol. I watched it back and honestly cringed at how bad it looked. Now I drop my hips lower and brace my core before every pull, and my lower back doesn't ache the next day. Has anyone else had a friend humble them with a quick video recording?

That Maybelline foundation reformulation from 2022 still bothers me

I used their Fit Me foundation for like 7 years straight, it was my holy grail. Then they changed the formula around mid 2022 and it started pilling on my skin after 2 hours. I tried 3 different primers, even switched moisturizers, and nothing fixed it. Finally just gave up and moved to a L'Oreal one that costs almost the same but actually stays put. Has anyone else noticed their favorite drugstore product get quietly ruined like that?

Switched from hickory to pecan wood on my last brisket and had to eat my words

I've always been a hickory guy (you know, the "real" BBQ smoke) but tried pecan on a whim since my usual supplier was out. The flavor was way milder and sweeter than I expected, actually let the beef taste come through instead of just smoke. Has anyone else found a wood that surprised them compared to what they usually use?

Honestly, after building a few simple automations myself, I see his point. What do you think separates a real agent from just a really long prompt chain?

Stumbled on a stat about how many Instagram comments are just emojis, and it blew my mind

I was scrolling through some random post about social media engagement, and it said like 53% of comments on Instagram are just emoji strings. No words, just little faces and hands. That feels wild to me because half the time I see a comment with just a fire emoji on a serious post, I wonder if they even read it. But then again, I've done it myself when I'm lazy. So what do you all think, are emoji-only comments lazy or just efficient?

Old timer at the supply yard in Phoenix told me to wet cure my driveway for 14 days straight

I did it for 10 and the thing still cracked along the edge, so now I wonder if going the full 14 would have saved me the headache, anyone else cut corners on curing time and regret it?

Warning: Stop using single-letter variable names in your code

I just spent 2 hours debugging a 500 line script because someone used 'i', 'j', and 'k' for 3 different loops nested together. If you're writing anything longer than a quick test, give your variables real names like 'userIndex' or 'rowCount' - has anyone else gotten burned by this kind of shortcut?

Shoutout to the lady who yelled at me for cutting her rose stems too short

I had a customer in Portland last spring who flipped out because I trimmed her long-stem roses down to fit a standard vase.
