Ran into an old classmate who went viral for the wrong reasons

Saw a guy I went to high school with at the Home Depot off I-35 last Tuesday. He got famous a few years back when someone filmed him losing it at a fast food drive thru. That video got millions of views. He told me he still gets recognized for it. People shout stuff at him from cars. He can't get a normal job because his name pops up first on Google. Said he made zero money off it too. Just the fame and all the baggage. Made me think twice about even posting a rant online. Has anyone else met someone who blew up for a dumb reason and regretted it?

I knew a girl from my neighborhood who ended up in a local news meme after she fell asleep on a bus and they filmed her with drool all down her shirt. This was maybe 2018. She still gets tagged in posts about it, and people send it to her on her birthday. She told me she had to delete her Facebook because random dudes kept sending it to her like it was a pickup line. It sucks because she was just tired, you know? One bad day caught on camera and now everyone thinks they know her. Makes me feel bad for anyone who gets stuck like that.

And that's the thing, people don't realize that meme isn't funny to her anymore it's just a reminder of a crappy afternoon that won't go away. It's like digital jail where one stupid moment defines you forever.

A buddy of mine still gets roasted for a video of him tripping over a curb from like five years ago, it never dies.
