That video of the guy fixing his dishwasher with a paperclip changed my whole approach to appliance repair

I used to call a repairman for everything. Dropped $150 last year on a visit just to have them tell me the filter was clogged. Then I saw this viral clip of some random dad in Ohio using a paperclip to reset a control board on a Whirlpool. Tried it myself on my dryer that wouldn't start, and it worked in 2 minutes. Has anyone else had a random Reddit or TikTok fix save them a bunch of money?

lol "random dad in Ohio" is exactly who I'd trust with my $800 dryer.

@jordanc32 yeah random dads in Ohio know how to fix everything. They'll have that dryer running on a paperclip and some duct tape for the next 15 years. Meanwhile the warranty guy at Best Buy can't even get it unclogged.
