Warning: My viral post about a flat tire still haunts me 3 years later
Had coffee with an old dispatcher buddy in Billings last week. He told me a simple photo I posted of a blown retread on I-94 ended up on 4 news sites without my permission. People were calling me a hero, a fraud, everything in between. You never know where your photo will end up, so think twice before hitting post.

Never know where your photo will end up" is the real lesson here. Watermark everything before you post or just keep the crash pics on your phone.

Oh man, @averywilliams is exactly right. My buddy in Missoula posted a photo of his crumpled hood after a deer hit and woke up to a lawyer offering him 8 grand to use it in an insurance dispute, watermark or no watermark that thing traveled fast.

I knew a guy in Great Falls who posted a photo of a cracked rim on his pickup. Three days later he gets a call from a lawyer in Denver. The lawyer wanted to use his picture in a lawsuit against the tire company. He ended up making 12 grand off that split second decision. Sometimes getting your photo out there can work in your favor. Most people don't get that kind of chance.
