Chat with a floor guy made me rethink ad frequency caps

I was talking to a buddy who runs a hardwood flooring business, and he told me he saw my company's ad 12 times in one day last week. He said it honestly made him annoyed and less likely to call us, which hit different because I always thought more impressions meant better results. Has anyone else had a customer tell them that seeing your ad too much actually backfired?

Makes you realize even good ads get annoying when they follow you around all day.

Holy crap, 12 times in one day is insane! That would drive me nuts too, no wonder he felt that way. Good on your friend for being honest, most people would just quietly get annoyed.

Strong disagree, more touches build familiarity with your brand and your friend just happened to catch a glitchy day. @mila_flores8 the research actually shows frequency builds trust even if people claim it annoys them in the moment.
