Spent 4 hours trying to figure out why my Facebook ad was getting zero clicks

Turns out I had the CTA button set to 'Sign Up' but the landing page was a product page, not a signup form. Has anyone else burned a whole afternoon on something that dumb?

Yeah that "sign up" button thing got me once too. I used to think those details don't matter much but man, I was wrong. Your mileage may vary but now I double check everything before I hit publish.

It's funny you mention that @kaid59 because I've noticed the same kind of thing when I'm cooking. I'll skip measuring something exactly because "it'll be fine" and then wonder why the sauce is too salty or the cake sinks in the middle. Those little details stack up quick, whether it's a button on a page or a tablespoon of baking powder.

Man, that is exactly the kind of thing that makes you want to just close the laptop and walk away for the day. I've done stuff like that where you're so sure it's some complex technical problem but it's just one little setting that's completely off. It's brutal because you can't even get that time back, you know? At least now you'll probably never make that mistake again, so there's that small win. Solidarity on the wasted afternoon, been there way too many times.
