Wasted $200 on an AI writing tool that was just fancy autocomplete
I signed up for a 6-month plan on a tool claiming to write entire articles for me, and it basically just rephrased my first sentence over and over... Lost $200 after the first week and couldn't get a refund. Anyone else got burned by a hyped-up AI service that didn't deliver?

Next time try the free month first before committing to a big plan.

Yeah, totally agree with "try the free month first." That's honestly the smartest way to test if a service is gonna work for you before you drop any cash. I did that with a meal kit thing last year and realized half the ingredients were stuff I didn't even like, so it saved me from a whole subscription I would've hated. Plus a lot of times those free trials let you test out the full features, not just some dumbed down version. Way better than getting stuck paying for something you barely use after a month.

I signed up for Grammarly's premium once and it was basically just correcting commas I didn't need changed. This whole AI hype feels like the same pattern with all these "smart" gadgets lately. Like how everyone bought those fancy wifi fridges a few years back and then realized they just wanted a normal fridge that keeps food cold. Companies know people get excited about new tech and will pay before thinking it through. The free month trick really is the only way to dodge this stuff, but even then some services hide their worst flaws until after you've locked in.
