Had a buddy call me out on loading my air fryer like a packed suitcase
I always crammed the basket full of chicken thighs thinking more food = more efficient. He told me I was basically steaming them instead of getting that crispy skin. Tried it his way with just 4 thighs instead of 6 last night and the difference was night and day. Anyone else get called out on how they load their basket?

and ALSO you gotta leave space between each piece so the hot air can actually get around them. I used to layer chicken on top of each other like a game of Jenga and wondered why the bottom pieces came out soggy. now I do ONE layer with a little gap between each thigh and the skin comes out CRUNCHY every time.

Good point and it actually applies to SO many things in life. People cram their fridge full and wonder why stuff spoils faster. Same with a closet, you pack it tight and you can't find anything. I see it with my own kids trying to do homework while their desk is buried under papers and old candy wrappers. You need room to breathe, whether it's chicken pieces or your own brain space. Leaving a little gap is basically a rule for everything that needs air or attention.
