Had to choose between standard clecos and spring-loaded ones for a skin job last week

Tbh I went with spring-loaded clecos because I was working solo on a Cessna 208 wing panel. Saved me like 15 minutes per row since I didn't have to keep grabbing pliers every time. Anyone else make the switch or stick with the old standards?

nah man spring-loaded clecos are a game changer until you launch one across the hangar and spend 10 minutes crawling under a tool box looking for it lol. i had one bounce off a spar and land in a coffee cup once. still worth it for the speed though.

Wait, have you ever tried those magnetic pickup tools for retrieving launched clecos? I swear by them after losing a dozen of the little buggers in a single afternoon. But do you find the spring-loaded ones actually save more time in the long run compared to the old twist-lock style?
