Taping over the keypad before painting saved me a callback in Boise
I was finishing a panel swap on a 3,400 sq ft house in Boise and the painter showed up early to spray the hallway. My keypad was already mounted and I did not want to pull it and risk the wires, so I cut a piece of wide blue tape and pressed it flat over the whole face. When he was done I peeled it off clean and the plastic looked brand new, no overspray in the seams at all. I used to spend 20 minutes with a razor blade scraping paint out of the buttons on every job. Does anyone else have a small prep step like this that keeps you from getting called back?
