Bought a $200 "collector's edition" anime box set. Discs were glued inside the case.

Ordered the special edition of a 90s mecha series from an eBay seller. Box looked legit. Then I opened it. Someone had literally glued the DVD trays shut. Tried to pull out disc 1 and it ripped the label off. Lost the money. Seller ghosted. Anyone else get burned on a fake "rare" set?

You know a buddy of mine buy a "rare" anime VHS lot once and it was just empty cases with handwritten labels? He opened the box and it smelled like someone's basement from 1995, real musty and gross. The seller blocked him right after the payment cleared, so he was out like $150 with nothing but trash.

Always file a PayPal dispute within the window, they don't mess around with empty boxes. Even if he blocked you, PayPal can still pull the money back if you have proof of what was sent.
