Can we talk about the pacing in One Piece's Wano arc?

I'm rewatching the Wano arc right now and I'm stuck on episode 982. The anime drags out every single fight with reaction shots and flashbacks. My buddy says the slow pace builds tension and makes the big moments hit harder. I think it just kills the momentum and makes me skip ahead. I timed it once - a single clash between Luffy and Kaido took like 4 minutes of screen time for 2 seconds of action. Which side are you on: do the slow stretches make the payoff better or are they just filler?

Episode 982 is rough I feel you. I used to be on your side too but then the rooftop fight in the manga clicked for me and now I appreciate the slow burn a bit more cause it makes Luffy's final hits feel earned.

@jesse994 you nailed it. Slow burn builds the payoff.
