Found a trick for stuck dryer drums that saved me 2 hours

Been fighting a stuck drum on a Samsung dryer for weeks, tried all the usual belt and roller stuff. Finally just flipped it on its back and tapped the motor shaft with a rubber mallet while it was running. Has anyone else gotten one unstuck this way or am I just lucky?

Whacked mine with a hammer out of pure frustration. Broke the plastic housing. Had to order a new part. Dryer worked fine after that though. Your method sounds way smarter than mine.

You said "whacked mine with a hammer" and I realized I've never once thought about just hitting things to fix them. My go to is usually taking stuff apart and losing screws everywhere.

@kelly385 funny enough, I once freed a stuck washer pump with a broom handle while it was on.
