A client told me my questions were too vague to get a real answer
They said 'ask exactly what you need to know, not just 'how does this work?''. Now I write every question like I'm explaining it to a new person, but is there a better way to frame things?

My boss gave me the exact same advice last year.

How do you even start to fix something that vague? I got that same note once and it stung, but it really does force you to get clear. Framing it for a new person is a solid way to get there.
