Funny you should mention that, because I once used a fast-drying glue for a school project and ended up with a lopsided birdhouse. The teacher said it looked 'artistic', but we all knew it was just bad timing. Always check the working time on the bottle, I guess.

Yeah but that extra brine waters down the flavor of the whole jar. You're trading floaters for weaker taste. I always pack them tight and leave just enough brine to cover, then use fermentation weights. It keeps everything submerged without diluting the spices and vinegar kick.

Love when that happens. Had a surprise drizzle last week that saved me on a flagstone walkway finish. Made the whole cleanup and final touch so much easier.
