Had a chat with a neighbor that made me ditch my streaming subscriptions
He said he's been using the library's free DVD collection for two years and hasn't missed a thing. He pointed out that we spend $50 a month on Netflix and Hulu but watch maybe 3 shows total. Has anyone else tried going back to physical media from the library?

Oh man, absolutely! I did the same thing about a year ago and it was a total game changer. I got sick of scrolling through endless menus (you know, the paradox of choice thing) and just went to my local library instead. Turns out they have a decent selection of Blu-rays, not just old scratched DVDs. I save about $60 a month now, and I actually watch what I bring home because I have to return it in a week or two (no more hoarding 50 unwatched movies in my queue). Plus I discovered some weird indie films I never would have tried otherwise. My only tip is to check their online catalog before you go, because the physical shelves can be a mess sometimes.

Same here. I cut my streaming bills in half once I started raiding the library Blu-ray section.

Library DVDs are totally underrated. Grabbed a Bluray of Dune 2 a few weeks back and it looked just as good as streaming. Crazy thing is they also have new releases, not just old stuff. Your neighbor's got a point about the cost, $50 adds up fast just for a few shows nobody watches.
