My car battery died at 5am in a Walmart parking lot
The alternator went out on my 2010 Civic and I didn't notice until I turned the key. Had to call a buddy to jump me and then drive straight to AutoZone before work. Anyone else had a battery die at the worst possible time?

Wait, your alternator died and you just kept driving until you parked at Walmart? That's wild, I would have been stranded on the highway for sure.

Oh man, I gotta push back a little here. Yeah, the timing is awful but your alternator dying is kind of a slow death, not a sudden one. If your battery light came on at all that's your first clue, not a loud noise from the back seat. I feel like people overcomplicate car problems. My old Ford Taurus had the alternator start whining like a sick puppy for a good week before it finally gave out. I drove it to work every day knowing it was gonna happen eventually, but I was broke and hoping it'd hold out. So yeah, the 5am Walmart parking lot thing, that's just the universe laughing at you for ignoring the warning signs like I did.

Did you have a fan, a cooler, or a bag of something making noise in the back seat that drowned out the warning signs? Last time my battery started acting up, I ignored the slow crank for a week because I was too busy to deal with it. That 5am dead battery wake-up call is a special kind of pain.
