Neighbor's feedback on my compost pile made me rethink my whole setup

She said my greens were too wet and I was just layering wrong, so after three months of trying her method of mixing in more browns like shredded cardboard I actually got usable dirt for the first time.

Dude, same here. I was so stubborn about just piling everything in and hoping for the best, but once I actually paid attention to the browns/greens ratio it was like a whole new world of dirt.

Has anyone else noticed how the math nerds always try to make this sound complicated? @nguyen.tara is right, its just basic dirt math once you get the hang of it.
