Switched my stance on meal planning after a $300 grocery month
I always thought meal planning was for overachievers, but then I tracked my random shopping trips and saw I was blowing $300 extra a month on junk. My wife showed me her system and after 3 weeks our fridge had half the waste and we actually saved money. Has anyone else been converted by a specific budget number?

Whoa, I'm the opposite. Meal planning makes me feel like I'm living in a spread sheet. I'd rather just buy what I'm feeling that day and accept I'll waste a little money.

My wife showed me her system a few years back and it was the opposite for me - I got obsessed with bulk buying and ended up with a freezer full of chicken that I still haven't finished. It took me realizing I was throwing away half of what I bought to finally get on board with a real plan. Did you find it hard to break the habit of grabbing stuff on a whim?
