Talked to my neighbor about his 'ask anything' approach to learning guitar

He's this retired guy who just started six months ago. He told me, 'I just ask anything that pops into my head on forums, even if it seems dumb.' He showed me a thread where he asked about holding a pick, and the answers totally changed his grip. It made me realize I overthink my own questions before posting. Do you guys ever hold back on asking something simple?

Honestly, it's just guitar, not a final exam.

Tell that to my fingers after trying to learn the solo from "Crazy Train" for three months straight. I've got calluses on top of calluses and I still sound like a cat walking on the strings. It feels exactly like failing a final, but the only grade is my own disappointment.

That solo is legit hard, took me like six months to get it clean. Terry_carter15 might not get it but failing at something you care about hits different. Keep grinding, the calluses mean you're putting in the work.
