Had a talk with an adjuster last Thursday that made me rethink how I write estimates

Guy I've dealt with for years at State Farm. He flat out told me half the shops in town are padding hours on blend times and R&I that don't match the actual labor. Said they're flagging shops left and right now for it. Hit home because I've been guilty of just copying old line items without double checking. Anyone else getting pushback from adjusters on stuff you used to slide through?

I hear you saying "copying old line items without double checking" and I get it, we've all done that. But I'd take that adjuster's warning with a grain of salt. They always say they're cracking down, then six months later it's business as usual. In my experience, a lot of this depends on the specific adjuster and their mood that day, not some big company policy shift.

Right, it's totally a mood thing with adjusters. Some are in a power trip one day and don't care the next, so no point stressing over one bad review. Best bet is to just keep doing what you're doing unless you hear the same thing from multiple sources in your area.
