Hot take: The cheapo sandpaper from the big box store versus the 3M Cubitron II I had to special order
I was doing a full quarter panel on a 2019 F-150 last month and tried to save a few bucks with the store brand stuff. It loaded up in maybe 20 minutes and left swirls I had to chase for an hour. The Cubitron II disc I used on the other side cut faster, lasted the whole job, and left a finish ready for primer with almost no extra work. Why do we even bother with the cheap stuff when the time saved is worth more than the money?

Totally, that false economy gets you every time. The good paper just lets you focus on the work instead of fighting your tools.

Ugh, that line about chasing swirls for an hour is the realest thing. I've been there so many times trying to save a few dollars. You end up spending way more time fixing the mess than you ever saved on the paper. It's such a false economy. That Cubitron stuff is a total game changer for how long it lasts alone.

Wasn't there a whole video about how the cheap stuff can actually burn your clear coat? I mean, it cuts faster but leaves way more damage to fix later.
