Old timer in Tulsa told me to trust the click, not the torque wrench
He said a seized bolt will 'sing' before it snaps, and after 11 years of fighting rust on Oklahoma trucks, that stupid audio cue has saved me more stripped heads than my $400 snap-on ever did, but is there a trick for when the bolt is silent 'cause I'm about to lose it on this frame rail today?

Swore by the click for years, but last spring a dead-silent bolt on my own trailer hitch taught me the real trick is feeling for that tiny give in the wrench, like the metal takes a breath before it lets go. Trust that, and the silence stops being so scary.

Yeah, that "give" feeling is wild once you key into it, right? I started doing the same with my lug nuts and now I barely use the clicker on anything under 150 ft-lbs. You can almost feel the bolt stretch a hair before it stops, like the threads are telling you they're done. Takes a while to trust it though, especially on stuff you really don't want snapping off.
