Realized at my 200th cleaning that I was angling the scaler all wrong
My mentor in Dallas caught me holding it at a 45 instead of a 70 and told me I was basically polishing the tartar instead of removing it. How long did it take you guys to figure out your grip angle?"}
Was the 45 angle something you picked up from a previous office or did it just feel natural when you started? Curious because I had a similar thing happen where my old boss never corrected me and I didn't find out until a patient asked why their gums felt so sore after every visit. That was a rough day. Did your mentor show you on a typodont first or did she just watch you and call it out mid patient?
