An old dispatcher in Ohio showed me how to strap cars right
He watched me load a sedan in Columbus and said, 'You're gonna lose that in a hard brake.' I switched to cross-strapping the front wheels instead of just the frame hooks, and my last 12 trips have had zero movement complaints. Anyone else pick up a trick from a veteran carrier that made a bigger difference than any pricey tool?

Old school guys know stuff you just can't buy. Cross-strapping changed everything for me too.

Read an old rigging manual from the 80s that had a whole chapter on this. It talked about how cross-strapping spreads the load way better than any modern gadget. Sometimes the simple tricks are the ones that stick around for a reason.
