TIL fixing a 6 inch gap under my gate took 2 weekends and 3 trips to the hardware store
My dog kept squeezing under the gate and I figured a quick bag of quikrete and some pavers would fix it in an afternoon. Turns out the ground sloped, so I had to dig out 4 inches of old gravel, pour a new footing, and wait a full day for it to cure before I could even set the blocks. Has anyone else run into a slope problem under a fence and what did you use to level it out?

A whole weekend for a 6 inch gap sounds like you went way overboard when you could've just wedged a couple bricks or a paver in there and been done in ten minutes. Slope or no slope, concrete footings are overkill for keeping a dog in the yard.
