I used to think weighing flour was overkill, then Tuesday happened
Was making my usual sourdough in Portland and the dough came out like soup, turned out my cup measure was off by like 40 grams from packing. Now I'm weighing everything and honestly kicking myself for all those flat loaves, anyone else switch late and regret it?

Got a buddy who bragged for years about his "intuitive" baking, then brought a brick to a potluck that was supposed to be focaccia. He finally weighed his flour that night and found out he'd been adding an extra half cup every time. Now he won't shut up about his kitchen scale, which is honestly funnier than the brick.

Hate to be that person but flour weight varies a lot depending on how you scoop it, so his scale probably saved him from way more chaos than just that one brick. Still, the fact he spent years bragging while being off by half a cup every single time is genuinely hilarious. Good on him for finally measuring though, better late than never.
